God's Masterpiece

“For we are God’s masterpiece. He has created us anew in Christ Jesus, so we can do the good things he planned for us long ago.” Ephesians 2:10 NLT

In the beginning, the Earth was formless, dark, empty and filled with unhindered water. But the Father had a huge dream, it was so big that he was the only one that could fulfill it. His Spirit brooded over the Earth until it was time for God's big dream to come true. So the father got to work and began a seven day project titled, "Creation". On the first day, he declared "Light Be!" Light appeared and was separated from darkness, creating daytime vs. nighttime. On the second day, God created the dividing line between heaven and earth, and he called it the sky.

On the third day, the father created a division between the waters which led to dry ground appearing, creating the seas and the land. He also commanded vegetation, fruit bearing trees, and seed bearing plants to fill the ground. On the fourth day, the sun was created to rule the day and the moon to rule the night along with beautiful stars to fill the sky. On the fifth day, he filled the seas with fishes and the sky with birds. 

On the sixth day, he created animals of all kinds. 

And he also ****drum roll*** he created the best of the best, his masterpiece, the king of all creation, the apple of his eyes, he created MAN!!! Now man is special to God, all that was created prior to man was for man's benefit. Man was created to rule and reign over all creation. Before man arrived on the scene, all that he needed to enjoy earth to the fullest had already been provided. All man had to do was show up and dominate. No stress, no hard labor, no struggling, hustling, and bustling. All man had to do was to manage and replenish what God created.

The first man named Adam got carried away and lost it all. He choose to believe a lie instead of holding on to the truth that he knew. And then man's role got reversed, he started to serve what was suppose to serve him. He started working hard for what was meant to come easy. Humanity was doomed, sickness ruled and sin reigned. 

But God, being ever faithful never gave up on his big dream. He gave the ultimate sacrifice and paid the greatest price for man to be restored. He gave his one and only son Jesus! Jesus came willing, he caught a glimpse of the father's dream and was sold. Even though he was one with God, divinity in all its fullness, he came down from his throne in heaven as a man to the earth. He conquered sin, sickness, poverty and death in order for man to be restored. 

To top it off, man wasn't renovated or rebuilt, man was made brand new!!! God re-created his masterpiece. This time around man was built to last, making him stronger, better, and wiser!!! He made Jesus the head of man, so when man now comes before him he doesn't see his ugly flaws. He sees the perfection of Jesus.

We are God's masterpiece, we are the center of his big dream. In the beginning, his dream was to have a huge family that would rule on Earth as he does in heaven. That is still his dream, he set the stage for us when he sent Jesus to take our place. Now it's our turn to take our place, right in the center of the stage. We are the lead characters in this dream, so what are you waiting for? You are God's masterpiece. A masterpiece doesn't not hide behind the scenes, a masterpiece does not settle for less. A masterpiece comfortably takes its place and shines bright!

When God created you, he had a plan for you. You were created to do more than get an education, have a family, get a job, and die. You were created to do great things and leave a legacy of greatness behind. You were created to last throughout all eternity, by fulfilling purpose and bringing Glory to God!
