Keep the Fire Burning

“His disciples remembered that the scripture says, “My devotion to your house, O God, burns in me like a fire.””
John 2:17 GNT

But if I say I'll never mention the LORD or speak in his name, his word burns in my heart like a fire. It's like a fire in my bones! I am worn out trying to hold it in! I can't do it! NLT

While on Earth, the Lord Jesus was consumed with doing God's will. Every step he took and every move that he made was in line with God's Will. He never missed a beat, he never missed his target and he never skipped a step....he was spot on! Doing God's work consumed him...he knew where he was going and he couldn't be sidetracked. He was focused! He was fully engrossed! He was determined! He was driven! He was about his father's business!

A fire will consume every and anything that stands in its path, that's exactly what the Lord Jesus did. Whenever he showed up, he made it a point to fully represent his father. The Lord Jesus made it a duty to reveal his father to those he came in contact with is mission was "reconciling the world to God" and that's what he devoted his time on Earth to. He was absoultely consumed with his father's business(Luke 2:49).

Even as he dined with others, he was at work (Matthew 9:11-12). He seized every opportunity to bring glory to God. This didn't mean that he didn't enjoy life or that he didn't have a "social life". He was intentional and strategic. Even while in attendance at a wedding, he was still at work (John 2:1-10), bringing glory to the father.

What types of thoughts fill your mind continuously? What types of things fill up your daily agenda? What are your priorities? Are you too busy minding your own business to manage your father's business? Are you too busy chasing money when it should be chasing you? Are too busy worrying about your family? bills? finances? marriage? Etc.

The Word of God has given us the solution to living a life of abundance, “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
Matthew 6:33 KJV. God knows what we need: the money, houses, cars, clothes, etc are all good things. They were created for us to enjoy, not for them to control our every waking moments.

Psalm 23 calls God, our shepherd. A shepherd feeds, guides, and protects his sheep. As long as the sheep follow their shepherd, they'll be well taken care of. The same goes for us, as we follow God's plan for our lives we would never have any lack.

One thing that is worthy of note is that Jesus never saw fulfillment of destiny as a separate part of his life. To the Lord Jesus, fulfilling destiny was his life. So everything that he did, said, and thought of  were all where is sync with his calling. If we can see every aspect of our lives as ONE, we'd enjoy life a whole lot better.

As a student aim to please God by being a diligent student, as a spouse aim to please God by honoring him in your marriage, as a single person honor God with your time and resources, as a parent, raise your children in the way of the Lord, as a business person honor God be providing top notch services, etc. That's how to fulfill God's Will, showcase his glory and display his love in all that you do. Keep the fire burning!!!

Confession: In the name of the Lord Jesus, I declare that I will keep the fire burning. I choose to seek God and his kingdom first and I trust God to meet me at every point of my needs. Amen.

Prayer Starter: Heavenly Father, thank you for loving me absolutely and giving me the best of all things. In the name of Jesus, I ask for strength and grace to trust you at all times and in all things. Amen.

You're blessed!

The Blessing is Irreversible!

“God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through? Listen, I received a command to bless; God has blessed, and I cannot reverse it!”Numbers 23:19-20 NLT

If you are a believer, then you've been blessed along with faithful Abraham (Galatians 3:9), we are heirs of the promise that God made to him(Galatians 3:29). The blessing of the Lord is our inheritance, it was commanded upon us and it is irreversible. Not only did God make a promise to Abraham, he also swore by it (Hebrews 6:17). Do you believe that God can lie? It is absolutely impossible for him to lie, an oath can never be broken. So why is it so difficult for many to believe that he has blessed us?

We came into God's kingdom by faith; in order to enjoy the benefits of the kingdom we must live by faith. We are not mere servants in this kingdom, we are sons (Romans 8:15). Sons are the beneficiaries of their father's Will. We are the beneficiaries of the promise that God gave to Abraham (Genesis 12:1-422:17). Abraham came into the blessing by faith and obedience, that's the key. In order to walk in the blessing (Genesis 1:28), we must trust God absolutely and obey him even when it doesn't seem to make sense.

Adam lost the blessing because he responded to the enemy based on fear, which led to disobedience. Circumstances and situations will come, challenges and temptations will rare their ugly heads we overcome them all when we choose to believe God and his Word. There isn't a problem that is bigger than God, do you believe in his power to change your situation? Can you be patient enough to see that it works for your good at the end?

If you are in Christ Jesus, you are blessed! It doesn't matter what your account balance is, it doesn't matter what your job title is or is not, it doesn't matter if you have a university degree or not...YOU ARE BLESSED! It doesn't mean that those things are not important, however you shouldn't allow them to define you.

Walking in faith is simple, set your gaze on things above, set your gaze on the Word of God. Refuse to be moved by what you see or feel, faith in God coupled with patience will grant you the desires of your heart. Ask and wait on the Lord until your joy is full (John 16:24), stop believing the lie of the enemy that it isn't God's Will for you. God's Will for you is to be complete in all things, lacking nothing (James 1:4; 2 Corinthians 9:8).

Confession: In the name of the Lord Jesus, I declare that I am blessed! I declare that the blessing of Abraham is so strong upon me that I increase on every side without measure. Amen

Prayer starter: Heavenly father, I asked for grace today to trust in the power of the blessing and to see it's manifestation in every area of my life, in Jesus' name. Amen

You're blessed!

Package Your Gifts Well

And the quality of each person's work will be seen when the Day of Christ exposes it. For on that Day fire will reveal everyone's work; the fire will test it and show its real quality. If what was built on the foundation survives the fire, the builder will receive a reward. But if your work is burnt up, then you will lose it; but you yourself will be saved, as if you had escaped through the fire. (1 Corinthians 3:13-15 GNT)

God has endowed us gifts, talents, graces, and callings to impact the world (1 Peter 4:10). A gift isn't truly a gift until it is given. We should not keep what God has given us to ourselves, that is unfaithfulness. God is not in the business of me, myself and I, he blesses you so that you can be a blessing (Genesis 12:2). When you give of yourself and your resources to others, you showcase the love of God (John 3:16). As a member of the body of Christ, God has given you a specific task; if you fail to do your part, the entire body will suffer. You'll find certain parts having to work harder to cover up the slack of others (1 Corinthians 12:26-27).

Another thing to note is how we present our gifts to others, I'm sure you'd appreciate a professionally wrapped gift versus one that's merely placed in a plastic bag. Our father is a God of details, he thrives on excellence. Be creative with your delivery, there's something unique about your gift. Don't just dish it out thoughtlessly, take time to package your gift so that it'll attract a variety of people. When we give our gifts or stand in the places of our callings, we represent our father. Are a true representative of your father in heaven?

Quality is key, it is everything. People value quality, it is attractive. The people of the world have seem to gotten this concept well, hence why many people enjoy secular movies, music, fashion, etc. But as believers, quality and excellence should be our specialty. Our father is creative, we ought to be as well.

On the day of judgment, you will have to give an account of what you did with all that God has deposited within you. Are you going to pass the quality control inspection? Or will you work crumble under the pressure of the fire?

There's a saying that goes "Anything worth doing, is worth doing well." I totally agree, showcase the father first class through your gifts, graces, and callings. Be intentional, be creative, be unique. Wait on the Holy Spirit for ideas and concepts, he'll show you things that you could never figure out on your own. Quality is key! Be creative!

Confession: Father, I thank you for every gift that you've given me. I declare that I will take time to develop them and be creative in my delivery. In Jesus' name, Amen.

Prayer Starter: Heavenly father, I come to you today asking for insight and creative wisdom to bring you glory with my gifts. In Jesus' name. Amen.

You're blessed!

Confession Saves!

For it is by our faith that we are put right with God; it is by our confession that we are saved. (Romans 10:10 GNT)

Our faith in God is what puts us and keeps us right (righteous) with God and it is our confession of the lordship of the Word over our lives that saves us (Romans 10:9).

Are you in a tight spot? Does it seem like nothing is working and like you are not making any progress? Does it seem like things are getting worse? Does your life seem hopeless?

Well then it's time to speak! Speaking the Word of God is the key to creation (Hebrews 11:3). You create what you desire to see in every area of your life by speaking it into existence; instead of confessing negativity or keeping quiet and accepting the circumstances around you as "final", speak! Confession saves!

Let your conversation be without covetousness; and be content with such things as ye have: for he hath said, I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee. So that we may boldly say, The Lord is my helper, and I will not fear what man shall do unto me. (Hebrews 13:5-6 KJV)

The Lord has promised to always be there for us, we need to be bold in confessing his promises because he can not lie. When we confess these promises, we activate their performance in our lives.

A man's [moral] self shall be filled with the fruit of his mouth; and with the consequence of his words he must be satisfied [whether good or evil]. (Proverbs 18:20 AMP)

Your words determine your standing in life, depending on the words that you choose to speak, you will either have good or bad outcomes. The ball is in your court, the choice is yours.

Don't become a victim of your feelings or circumstances, if things aren't going well around you, speak what you desire to happen instead. Speak your way into change, speak your way into victory.

Now some of you may be saying in your hearts "I've been speaking, but things haven't changed." There is a prerequisite to speaking the Word. According to Romans 10:9, we must believe the Word that we speak. Confession is not a result of wishful thinking, it is a result of a bubbling forth that comes from a heart (Luke 6:45) that has believed and received the Word of God without an ounce of doubt. Therefore make sure you've truly believed the Word before speaking.

Continue to fill yourself with the Word, keep feasting on it. Think of the Word as a endless supernatural buffet, it's all you can eat! Naturally speaking, after eating at a buffet, you may feel stuffed and you just want to sit around lifeless or go to sleep. However, after a Word feast, you have to speak the Word that you've receive. That's how you activate the power embedded within. Don't stop speaking until what you desire manifests. Ecclesiastes 3:11a says, "If the clouds be full of rain, they empty themselves upon the earth". The more you speak, the harder it'll pour.

Remember that God has promised that we will have whatever way say (Mark 11:23). Choose to say what you desire and not what you fear or see.

Confession: In the name of Jesus, I choose life. Therefore I choose to speak the Word at all times. I will not speak the negative circumstances that surround me. Amen

Prayer starter: Father, I repent for all the times when I've failed to speak your Word. I receive the help of the Holy Spirit to speak your Word at all times. In Jesus' name, Amen.

You're blessed!
